About
Parashiyot brings Residents into the linguistic and spiritual architecture of the weekly Torah portions through direct engagement with the Torah, Sha'ar HaPesukim, and Sha'ar HaLikutim. This Circuit study examines the Ta'amim as an ordered system of cantillation, phrasing, and textual organization, integrating the pronunciation of Hebrew letters, the placement of Niqqudot, and the melodic relationships governing the reading of each verse. Residents engage with assigned passages through measured reading, vocalization, translation, and the identification of individual cantillation marks, establishing a disciplined relationship between the written text and its oral transmission. Residents study the structural functions of the Ta'amim through their placement, melodic contour, accentuation, pauses, and relationships within the verse. Each session develops the ability to recognize the organization of Torah passages, distinguish the technical functions of individual cantillation marks, and examine the deeper configurations presented within the writings of HaAri and Chaim Vital. Parashiyot strengthens Hebrew reading proficiency and establishes the textual precision necessary to approach the Torah through its linguistic structure, transmitted cantillation, and underlying spiritual relationships.
